The Best Toilet Plungers In 2021

Are you looking for a toilet plunger?
Look no further here’s our toilet plunger guide.

It can be hard to know which is the best toilet plunger to buy. Lucky for you, we’ve tested hundreds of toilet plungers for performance, durability, and value for money.

Winner of Best Toilet Plunger: Mr. Sparkle Toiletsaber, $34.99

Top pick: Mr. Sparkle Toiletsaber

Mr. Sparkle Toiletsaber won the best overall toilet plunger in 2021. It’s an unusual choice, but it competes with toilet plungers, so we included it in our test.

Toiletsaber is a revolutionary new plumbing tool that features a unique J-shaped, flexible head specially designed to clear visible toilet clogs (paper & poop).

It succeeds because it provides incredible performance, is easy to use, and hygienic, which is essential considering there’s poop involved.

The unusual smooth design makes it easy to wipe clean in seconds and eliminates the splashing usually associated with toilet plungers.

Mr. Sparkle Toiletsaber won our award not just because it’s incredibly effective, but because it reimagined how to unclog a toilet faster, without the effort or the mess.

The exceptional design, build quality, and 5-year warranty combine to make Mr. Sparkle Toiletsaber the winner of the best toilet plunger in 2021.

Runner-up: Neiko 60166A Toilet Plunger $23.75
Runner-up: Neiko 60166A Toilet Plunger

If our top pick has sold out, consider the Neiko 60166A Toilet Plunger.

The rubber cup has steps molded into it to cater to all different toilets and was the only cup toilet plunger that didn’t collapse or flip inside out when we tested it.

However, build quality was an issue as it felt flimsy. There was also a strong nauseating rubber odor that we found difficult to ignore, meaning it would probably have to be stored outside.

In use, the Neiko splashed water on the floor no matter how careful we were, and we found it difficult to clean the steps in the rubber cup.

Budget Pick: Mr. Clean Turbo Plunger & Bowl Brush Set, $16.41
Budget pick: Mr. Clean Turbo Plunger & Bowl Brush Set

If you can’t justify spending $35 to protect your home from toilet clogs, the Mr. Clean toilet plunger is a good, cheap alternative.

However, we quickly found out that the rubber cup was too flimsy, which caused it to collapse every time we tried to use it to unclog a toilet.

At just 12 inches, this toilet plunger was the shortest in our test and not long enough to keep our hands from touching the water. The short handle made plunging difficult as we had to bend over the toilet.

Also consider: SurePlunge Toilet Plunger, $61.28
Also consider: SurePlunge Toilet Plunger

If you’re looking for a toilet plunger and you’re willing to pay a premium, SurePlunge may be the answer.

The SurePlunge uses CO2 cartridges to create the power for this toilet plunger. We did calculate that the cartridges would be an ongoing expense to use this product.

Korky 90-4A Toilet Plunger and Holder, $14.79
Korky 90-4A Toilet Plunger and Holder

We liked the handle on the Korky, which was sturdy and featured a unique crossbar on the top, which made it comfortable to use.

However, the rubber cup would not pop back into shape when compressed while spilling toilet water all over the floor.

The design of the rubber cup also collected mess, which was difficult to access and clean.

G. T. Water Master Plunger, $15.05
G. T. Water Master Plunger

The Master toilet plunger is light and pleasant to hold in hand; however, we found many issues during our tests. It was challenging to create a seal, which meant it would spray water out of the toilet bowl.

It was also difficult to pump the Master toilet plunger without sloshing water over the bowl’s sides.

Finally, the vast void inside, coupled with the ribbed walls and small nozzle opening, made the Master toilet plunger the most difficult to clean in our test.

Squatty Potty Poop Emoji Plunger, $32.88
Squatty Potty Poop Emoji Plunger

Last but not least, we have the Squatty Potty Poop Emoji Plunger. This one had everyone giggling in the office, so it was the most fun toilet plunger in our test.

It’s fun, but as we soon found out, flawed. The extra rubber used for the eyes and the mouth makes that part of the rubber cup stiff, so it only compresses on the opposite side.

It was one of the worst-performing toilet plungers in our test, but we concluded it would make for a fun novelty gift.
